Operators must familiarise themselves with several upcoming changes to the Vehicle Operator Licensing (VOL) service.
Jared outlines what we know so far:
Direct messaging coming to VOL
Shortly, operators will be able to send messages directly to the OTC using the VOL platform.
This will be a direct messaging service and will remove the need to send separate emails and operators will be able to see all their communication within their licence details on VOL.
Identifying consultants in VOL
The OTC are also creating the ability to identify a consultant as a new role within VOL.
If a consultant is applying on behalf of an operator, they will be able to assign themselves as a new user role on VOL which makes it clear to the OTC that they are not the operator/applicant.
The OTC hopes this will help eliminate confusion and miscommunication where operators have not been aware of messages sent to them.
These changes will apparently be introduced by the end of the year.
