Stepping stones to law – Lola Sandland’s apprenticeship journey

I started working at Dyne Solicitors as an Office Junior in July 2024 and later commenced as a Solicitor Apprentice in January 2025 with the University of Law.

I started straight from High School where I obtained A-Levels in Mathematics, Psychology and Economics.

As I reflect over my time since I began my role, I feel a sense of both personal and professional growth.

Starting as an Office Junior, I was introduced to the foundational aspects of the workplace environment, learning valuable administrative skills and understanding the dynamics of office operations. This role, though often demanding, prepared me for greater responsibilities and opened doors to more advanced opportunities.

Becoming a Legal Apprentice marked a significant milestone for me, transitioning from general administrative duties into a more specialised and engaging role within the legal field.

In this new position, I’m gaining hands-on experience, delving deeper into complex legal procedures under the careful guidance of experienced professionals.

This apprenticeship is essential for developing practical skills and building expertise across various legal areas.

Throughout this journey, the mentorship and support from my colleagues have been invaluable.

Their encouragement and advice have been crucial in navigating the intricacies of the legal environment, making each learning opportunity meaningful and enriching.

Working at Dyne Solicitors has been particularly rewarding, allowing me to join a team that is both supportive and enjoyable to be part of.

I am especially thankful to my office manager (and work bestie), Chloe, and trainee solicitor Patrik, whose guidance and mentorship have boosted my growth and confidence.

The positive culture and welcoming atmosphere at our office have greatly strengthened my commitment to pursuing a long-term career in law.
