Operators and drivers each face £1,000 Driver CPC fine

The Driving Standards Agency has recently warned that drivers and their employers could each face a fine of up to £1,000 if a professional driver is found to be driving without his Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
This means that all new drivers must ensure they have their DQC on them at all times when working and those who have until September 2013 or 2014 to complete their periodic training will need to carry their cards after this deadline.
With employers at risk too, the responsibility for completing 35 hours of training cannot just lie with the driver anymore.   It is therefore important that employers monitor their drivers’ CPC training and keep records of this monitoring.
