The Environment Agency (EA) has received Ministerial direction that uncompliant waste operators are either brought into compliance or removed from the industry within 18 months. The EA takes a well-trodden path when following such direction.
On the 11th of October 2018 our team of environmental lawyers will outline the 7 key steps signposting the EA’s path to prosecution and/or permit revocation. More importantly they will explain the appropriate action operators should take at each step, to prevent EA intervention from escalating.
Fatal injuries on waste sites are around 10 times higher than the average across all industries. Consequently, the HSE has identified the Waste Sector as a priority sector. It has increased its unannounced inspections at waste sites. The Regulators are in communication with one another, so increased activity from one Regulator can lead to visits and action from another. John Dyne will draw upon his 30 + years’ experience dealing with HSE matters to provide an easy to follow seminar on Health and Safety issues for waste operators.
Dyne Solicitors also specialises in providing commercial support for the waste industry helping to protect their legal interests when entering into agreements and assisting operators in defending their legal rights and in recovering, protecting and preserving such rights and entitlements.
Our legal team will be in attendance on the day to give you one to one advice on any specific issues you may have.
