The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have announced the annual test on analogue tachographs will no longer assess the speed limiter response speeds in heavy vehicles.
Prior to this change only some Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs) could test vehicles fitted with analogue tachographs due to the equipment required. However now all ATFs will be able to test such vehicles.
This part of the test has been suspended during the pandemic but will permanently be removed from the test from 1 May 2021. This means from 1 May 2021 ATFs will no longer be required to own or calibrate this equipment.
