The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) enforcement sanctions policy was updated on 1 February 2022. The guidance document covers the actions DVSA traffic examiners take to deal with offences when they carry out roadside checks, such as warnings, prohibition notices, and fixed penalties.
This policy is used to ensure the DVSA take consistent action when carrying out roadside checks. The latest update is to Section 3 (vehicle Excise, registration number and trade plates) with the addition of new number plate offences.
