The COVID-19 advice note produced by the Traffic Commissioners to help operators during the pandemic, has been updated.

There have been a few updates to the procedure for temporary Local Bus Service Registration variations in England, Scotland and Wales. The measure to permit short notice temporary variations will still be effective after 4th January 2021. This measure will be reviewed on 1st March 2021.

From 4th January 2021, any operator wishing to make a temporary change will have to pay the £60 registration fee. In addition, from 4th January 2021, there will be changes to the notification periods in England and Scotland.

The updated advice note also outlines when a vehicle is off the road throughout periods of lockdown for maintenance to take place (Q7) and recognises the extension of the furlough scheme until 31st March 2021.
