Safer E-mailing Service from Dyne Solicitors Limited Dyne Solicitors Limited is taking steps to protect its clients’ privacy by offering a free-of-charge e-mail encryption service. Using Voltage SecureMail secure e-mail service, clients will be able to send and receive encrypted e-mails to and from the firm. Dyne Solicitors now sends e-mails containing sensitive information of any nature by secure e-mail, unless clients request that they stop using this service for electronic correspondence. The service process involves all secure e-mails being sent as an attachment. When this attachment is opened, Voltage SecureMail will take the user through an authentication process. The user then enters a password before they can access the information. The passwords are set by the users themselves. First-time users will be required to set their password, and wait for an e-mail link through which they can begin using the service. The e-mails received by the client will contain an authorized signature. If the signature is unauthorized, the e-mail will show an alert, flagging up any potential hacking or spoofing. The service has provision for clients to respond securely, with all attachments able to be sent securely. The system does not store e-mails once they have been sent, but does have a facility for the users to copy e-mails to themselves. Managing Director John Dyne believes that e-mail security is an important element of communication. “E-mails can easily be intercepted and read,” he says. “E-mail is quickly becoming one of our main communication tools, so steps should be taken to ensure we can use the medium safely and securely. Sensitive information can be passed on via e-mail, as long as we don’t underestimate how easily it can be accessed without proper precautions. Sending unsecured emails is the equivalent of sending a postcard - potentially anyone can read it” For more information on the service contact Dyne Solicitors on 01829 773100 |
