Winds of change

Dyne Solicitors Limited is using its expertise in the fight against climate change by helping a worldwide provider of alternative energy with the legal implications of their technology.

German firm Energie Kontor, which has had a UK subsidiary since 1999, plans, builds and finances onshore wind farms. It has so far created around 65 wind farms, ranging in size from one to 20 turbines, which it operates and maintains once they are up and running.

Dyne Solicitors assist in negotiating leases with landowners, which can sometimes take several years to complete. The firm also conduct searches into the history and ownership of land, traces title information and advises throughout the process, including on legal aspects that may be raised by the landowner’s solicitor, and co-ordinates the compilation of purchase and maintenance contracts.

Guy Wilson, director at Energie Kontor Guy Wilson, says: “They have a wealth of experience on any of the problems that crop up, and are familiar with all aspects covered in the documents.  We have confidence in their advice and thoroughly enjoy working with them.”

John Dyne adds: “We are delighted to be working with Energie Kontor, especially as the nature of what they do makes such a positive contribution to the world.  We are pleased to be involved with ensuring that they are compliant with various legislation and to facilitate the erection of more wind farms.”
