An invitation to Directors, Transport Managers, Supervisors and Trainers.

Insecure Load Workshop

Thursday 4th September 2008
Thursday 6th November 2008

16.45 – 18.15

Venue: Dyne Solicitors Limited, Tattenhall

16:45 - Registration and coffee
17:00 – 18:15 Workshop and questions

It is very important that operators should be aware of the risks of prosecution both for employers and drivers as a result of an insecure load. The Health & Safety Executive, Police and VOSA can bring prosecutions arising out of insecure load incidents with maximum fines ranging from £5000 - £20,000 in the Magistrates Courts as well as the risk of imprisonment. To secure a criminal conviction it is not even necessary for the prosecution to prove a load has actually shifted let alone fallen from a vehicle.

You are invited to join our team and other Directors and Managers from your industry for our workshop on Thursday 4th September 2008 and Thursday 6th November 2008 that not only covers the legal issues but also provides practical advice on choice of vehicle as well as systems to adopt to ensure compliance with the legislation and codes of practice. Our objective is to provide those responsible for the management of commercial goods vehicles with the latest legal position in respect of duties and obligations relating to load security as well as practical advice essential for compliance.

This Workshop is a ‘must attend’ for Directors, Transport Managers and any other person with a supervisory role in relation to commercial vehicle drivers and will:

  • explain the legal duties and offences relating to load security

  • explain the basic principles of ensuring load security and prevention of related incidents and accidents

  • demonstrate simple steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of prohibition notices, prosecutions and convictions related to insecure loads

The workshop lasts for a minimum of one hour with ample opportunity for questions and answers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and is suitable for holders of the CPC as well as those without the CPC qualification and for restricted as well as standard national and international licence holders.

Our goal is to provide you with practical and pragmatic solutions, to equip managers, supervisors and trainers with the necessary information and knowledge to ensure legal compliance. We will post on certificates of attendance to all participants, which can be added to personal training portfolios.

There is a modest booking fee of £23.50* per person with every extra person from the same organisation qualifying for a discount of 50% (there is no limit on numbers). Light refreshments will be provided.

Whilst the booking fee is non-refundable if anyone is unable to attend for genuine reasons we will permit the transfer of the booking to the next available Compliance Workshop.

To reserve your place complete our on-line booking form or call us on 01829 773 100.
